Good news to start the week – here are some fast facts from Trip.com on the reopening of Shanghai Disneyland today (Monday, May 11), the biggest attraction to open in China since Covid-19 shut down the country.
• The searching volume of Shanghai Disneyland and related products increased more than five times on its platform several hours after the official reopening announcement on May 6.
• Trip.com kicked off the sale of Shanghai Disneyland tickets on 8bMay. An hour after the kick-off, the platform sold out about 5,000 tickets. The sale of tickets skyrocketed to more than 15,000 by the end of the day, an increase of 910% compared to the daily performance of January.
• Trip.com also launched the promotion of half-day entrance tickets for Shanghai Disneyland. Customers are able to enter Disneyland after 2pm and enjoy a half day trip which only cost 199RMB per person for entrance. Within one second, all the tickets for the first batch were sold out.
• On May 8, the 10RMB coupon also sold more than 3,000 pieces, which can be used as 50RMB when you purchase one ticket.
• Those born in 1990s and 2000s are the majority of ticket consumers.
